Concept Sketching
An important aspect of any design is visual communication. From conception to delivery, the ability to convey ideas through sketches, diagrams, and renderings is a critical skill that I have developed over the years.
I use sketching at every point in my development process for a lot of different purposes. Sometimes, sketching is a means of ideation - a way to generate ideas and record them so that I can refer back once I've started production. Other times, sketching is the way I make sense of the things around me. If I can dissasemble and visually represent the pieces, it helps me grasp how the piece as a whole works. But most often, sketching is a means of communication - of telling others what is meant by the ideas we have or selling them on the value of a concept.

What you will see here is a sampling of the sketching I've done for all these different reasons and more. I'm prepared to show you the work I've done in this category as raw as it comes, because sketching is communication - done with purpose in a timeline suited to the context. Sometimes that timeline dictates the communication be terse and to the point, and therefore some of the sketches here aren't as polished as the others. However, it's my hope that all of these are clear in what the concept is that they are illustrating, regardless of their level of polish.
